Welcome To Our Ride
Recounted by Jim “Bud Man” Johnson
Guess where this is ?
Howdy Old Riders,
We hope you enjoy our effort to create a place to share your Rides and Knowledge with others of like minds.
That said, we will be the first to “Dance”!   Enjoy, and hope to  hear from Old Riders everywhere.

Packed, Gassed and Ready to Go!

WILLLmaaa!!

What ride doesn’t start in the Garage, Carport or Living Room?
“Gearing Up” is the most fun as you all know. The “Hammer” prepares
his gear. Note the curried Ducati all covered up in red. Track Day will
have to wait to wait a week or two. We are headed for the OPEN ROAD!
Had to stop at Cabazon, Ca. just off I-10 before
Palm Springs to get in the mood for future stops
at all the places we never would have before !
Stop #1 for “Big Dog” to get stickers he plans to
plaster all over his helmet that will be retired after
this trip. Water and a pee were enjoyed all around.
We stopped for lunch at the Route 62 Diner in
Yucca Valley, Great Food and atmosphere since
Hutchins Harley Davidson shop is connected.
From there we continued to 29 Palms and picked
up old Route 66 to Needles. One tank of gas was
all it would take so we all filled up. EXCEPT
“Bud Man” who only managed to put in 2 thirds of
a tank in due to poor eyesight, not used to the
bike. The excuses go on!
We reach ROY’S in Amboy.
So, Bud Man feels pretty good.
“I’ll just fill’er up”!
“Sorry”, we just opened up and
there is no Premium Fuel.
“We’ll make it to Needles”
why risk bike troubles to low
grade fuel! “How bout just a
dollars worth?” NO WAY!
Bud Man can’t help but feel
this tree, the ONLY, tree in
the middle of the Desert covered
with shoes are the last remains
of those who found themselves
in similar circumstances.
I didn’t like the look in my
brother’s eyes.
