This space is Edited! Bud Man ran out of gas ! We managed to siphon gas from Big
Dog’s bike, ran out again. The Hammer’s bike was next, this time the siphon gets
stuck and lost in his tank where it still is today. Finally we made it to a station,
got to Laughlin where Shutterbug was waiting to join us. Good dinner and laughs were
had by all. This turned out to be the only
“Incident” of the entire trip
Heading out from Laughlin,
Nev. To Kingman, AZ. This
Rock formation inspired me.
My $15 Timex was now
“ROAD KILL”.
We are on Vacation with a
solid week of riding ahead of
us. After breakfast at
Cracker Barrel we head east
on I-40 to Seligman, AZ.
Seligman proved to be, once again, one of the most colorful and fun stops on the
trip. Here, we park in front of the Snow Cap on old Route 66 for a longer than
planned stop for rest.
Tour buses from Germany, France and Japan were all present and helped ring
the cash registers at the souvenir shops.
We all relaxed while a German tourist
snapped a family picture for us.
From Seligman we head East to Flagstaff
on I-40, always a beautiful ride. After
lunch in Flagstaff we head on out to the
next stop, Meteor Crater!
As you can see, the approach to the
Crater is desolate, the Harleys loved this
patch of road, as did we all. Sight seen,
we head to the “Jackrabbit Trading Post”
for even more “CHEESE”.
Our family remembers the car trips
on old Route 66 and the signs all
along for 200 plus miles counting
down the location.
Well, we finally stopped to buy
Rubber tomahawks, stickers for Big
Dog and some refreshments before
heading to Holbrook for the Wigwam
Motel and the Painted Desert.
But where’s “Shutterbug”?
